A Kitchen That Works — Finding the ‘Sweet Spot’ Between Cost and Value

In our second video in the series featuring West Sound’s home and design professionals, WestSound Magazine takes a look at A Kitchen That Works, LLC. We met with the two people behind the company, Molly McCabe and her husband, Clive Pardy, to find out what makes A Kitchen That Works unique. We also chat with a customer to get another perspective.

The award-winning business, located on Bainbridge Island, is a full-service design-build firm that offers a variety of remodels, or as McCabe put it, “from soup to nuts.”

A Kitchen That WorksThis little tidbit didn’t make it into the video, but McCabe shared with us that she started the company with kitchen design but later added bathrooms because that’s the one room that a person sees every morning. “That is how you start your day and it’s important to bring joy to your life — if you have a dreary bathroom, it’s hard to have a positive outlook from the start of your days,” she said.

McCabe started the business by herself in 2002 and a few years later convinced her husband to join, which allowed the company to greatly expand services. A Kitchen That Works, LLC is now a licensed general contractor and while baths and kitchens are still a specialty, McCabe and Pardy offer anything from closets and laundry rooms to great rooms and home offices.
