Kitsap Community Foundation hosted its annual Kitsap Celebration of Philanthropy in June at Suquamish Clearwater Casino & Resort, gathering 300 community members to honor 32 years of giving throughout Kitsap County. The event spotlighted five outstanding honorees: McCloud’s Grill House — Business Making a Difference; Reyna Blackwood, youth activist — Rising Star Youth; Jim Aho, nonprofit leader — Exceptional Nonprofit Service; Kevin W. Cure, professional adviser — Partner in Philanthropy; Patty Lent, community champion — Spirit of Philanthropy. Filled with inspiration, connection and purpose, the event raised an impressive $355,000 to support vital, nonprofit work — an extraordinary reflection of Kitsap’s generous spirit.
