Annual CVG Show Showcases Region’s Artists

CVG Art Show 2024The 18th Annual Collective Visions Gallery Juried Art Show opens to the public on Jan. 11, 2025, and runs until Feb. 28, with many related public events planned during that time. As one of the largest and most prestigious shows in the Pacific Northwest, the competition welcomes submissions from artists in both Washington and Oregon.

Noted sculptor Jan Hoy and photographer Harry von Stark will jury this year’s show and award prizes totaling close to $10,000 in two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and photographic or digital art. Other awards include the Mayor’s Award for Best in Show, Best of Kitsap Award, Emerging Artist Award, People’s Choice Award and Purchase Awards.

CVG Art Show 2024Collective Visions is owned and operated by 25-30 local artists who operate it to promote and celebrate the arts and to engage the community. The gallery hosts a variety of events including classes, a program for teens to explore art, lectures, concerts, demonstrations and shows by visiting artists and art organizations.

CVG Art Show 2024CVG is celebrating its 30-year anniversary, as well as accomplishments such as the ongoing success of Bremerton First Friday Art Walk, a tradition that the Amy Burnett Gallery and founding members of CVG initiated in West Sound. The annual and popular Ars Poetica also has its roots in the gallery and its founding members.

Through myriad and expanding activities around art and art making, CVG kindles a passion for the arts, which creates vital connections and builds community.

Unless indicated otherwise, the public is welcome to attend all show events at no cost. All take place at the gallery unless otherwise noted.

CVG Art Show 2024Saturday, Jan. 11

  • 11 a.m. — exhibition opens (gallery will be closed from 2 to 4 p.m.)
  • 3 p.m. — awards ceremony at the Roxy Theatre (for participating artists and their guests only)
  • 4 to 7 p.m. – reception at Collective Visions Gallery

Sunday, Jan. 12

  • 1 p.m. – jurors’ walk-through and talk

Friday, Feb. 7

  • 5 – 8 p.m. – Bremerton First Friday Art Walk and public reception

Sunday, Feb. 23

  • 2 – 4 p.m. – panel discussion about art and society, moderated by Steve Parmelee

Friday, Feb. 28

  • Last day of show; closes at 4 p.m.6 p.m. — guest lecture by artist and internationally known arts instructor Rick Mahaffey, followed by announcement of the People’s Choice Award winner
