Several local individuals were the recent recipients of the Washington State 2024 Excellence in Remodeling Awards. This prestigious event, which took place in June, celebrated the best in remodeling craftsmanship, innovation and design across the state of Washington.
The local winners, members of the Kitsap Building Association (KBA), are:
- Steve Bodle, Back Forty Repairs LLC, awarded for his outstanding basement/auxiliary dwelling unit remodel over $125,001. Back Forty also received the top honor, the first-ever “People’s Choice,” voted by a room of over 250 peers from across the state. This double recognition underscores Bodle’s exceptional talent, dedication and the high regard in which he is held by his fellow professionals. Winning both a category award and the “People’s Choice” reflects the outstanding quality and impact of his work.
- Molly McCabe, McCabe By Design, recognized for her exceptional projects in the bath under $35,000 category and the open project under $125,000 category.
- Bob Disney, Disney & Associates, honored for his kitchen remodel in the $75,001-$140,000 category.
The Excellence in Remodeling Awards highlight outstanding achievements by Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) members who have demonstrated excellence in various categories, including whole house remodels, kitchen and bathroom renovations, additions and outdoor living spaces. The winners were selected based on their exceptional project execution, quality of workmanship and overall impact on the homeowners’ lives.
Additionally, at this year’s State Board Event, KBA members were recognized for their active participation in legislative efforts, with 10 awards given statewide, including three to KBA members. Points were earned for various legislative activities, including responses, comments and testimonies. The local winners are Ron Perkerewicz, Inspection & Permit Services; Miriam Villiard, Heritage Builders NW; and Wayne Keffer, WRK Construction.
