The Dr. Maurice S. Mathis Guild hosted its annual fundraising event at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club. This year’s proceeds benefit St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. The 2024 funds will be used to upgrade the furniture in the labor and delivery rooms. Families are an integral part to any community.
While this may seem like just furniture, it creates a nurturing environment for the mother, child and their support system to bring a newborn into the community.
As an active and diverse group of women, the guild has sponsored women’s luncheons and fashion shows, operated a thrift shop, held a rummage sale and published a cookbook. Members also donated and decorated fun and fanciful trees for the Harrison Medical Center’s Festival of Trees for many years.
