Bremerton’s 77th Annual Armed Forces Day Parade in May had a remarkable turnout of over 145 parade entries, possibly a record-breaking figure, expertly marshaled by the Kiwanis Club of Bremerton.
The streets were lined with an estimated crowd of more than 25,000 spectators, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of appreciation and celebration. Leading the procession was Vice Adm. Robert Gaucher, commanding officer of Naval Submarine Forces, Submarine Force Atlantic and Allied Submarine Command, serving as the distinguished grand marshal for this year’s festivities.
Parade participants enjoyed the traditional Bremerton Central Lions Club pancake breakfast. The Heroes BBQ, supported by the USO and volunteers, served an impressive 1,200 hot dogs to our local members of the military and the general public.
