Peninsula Community Health Services late last month opened a new behavioral health intervention clinic in downtown Winslow on Bainbridge Island.

Founded in 1987, PCHS serves the Kitsap, Mason, and rural Pierce County areas. A team of 350 serves more than 40,000 patients.

The new Bainbridge Island clinic will provide primary care and behavioral health services with navigator support to help patients connect with resources, coordinate care, and navigate the health care system, according to a recent Bainbridge Island Review article.

The clinic features exam rooms and one procedure room. PCHS said that the new location’s proximity to local shops and community spaces marks an effort to be more accessible and integrated in the community.

PCHS CEO Jennifer Kreidler-Moss told the Bainbridge Island Review that she’s excited for PCHS to be able to serve 1,000 current BI patients without them having to drive to Kingston or Poulsbo clinics. She added that the organization will be evaluating the need for dental services if state capital dollars become available and community need and support warrant expansion.

The Bainbridge Island clinic will be able to serve 2,100 patients, or 14,000 visits, each year.
