In a recent announcement that has set Gig Harbor abuzz, the Kirkland seafood restaurant Anthony’s Restaurants has purchased Tides Tavern.
Tides Tavern, which is owned by Dylan Stanley and was founded by his father, Peter Stanley, will be selling the 53-year-old waterfront restaurant. Purchased back in 1973, the Tavern became a spot for locals and tourists during the busy summer season.
Anthony’s, which currently runs 32 other restaurants, has a location in Gig Harbor just a mile away from Tides Tavern.
Staff are expected to stay on during the transition, including general manager Kristin Bergeson and the chef John-Vincent Palacio, as reported by Gig Harbor Now. The sale will go through within the next four weeks, according to a release.
“The Tides Tavern is a treasured part of the Gig Harbor community, and we’re honored to be entrusted with its next chapter,” Anthony’s CEO Amy Burns said in a release.
