Elementary and middle school students have the chance to learn violin, viola, or cello, at Bainbridge Island Youth Orchestra’s “Beginner Strings” program starting Feb. 5.

The program teaches kids in a group setting once a week on Thursdays at Bethany Lutheran Church. Students will learn note reading, rhythmic foundations, how to play alongside one another, and will demonstrate their newly learned skills with two performances.

While families are responsible for providing their own instrument, the youth orchestra has a limited number of instruments available to rent for $50 per term on a first come first served basis. Tuition is $300 with assistance available.
