The state is close to launching a new incentive program for commercial fleet operators to transition trucks and other vehicles to models powered by electric or hydrogen, the Washington State Standard recently reported.

This spring, the Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program, also known as WAZIP, is expected to launch, the article said.

The program is designed to help businesses and fleets buy cleaner commercial vehicles and equipment, such as delivery vans, semi-trucks, tractors, and forklifts.

According to the piece, it will offer $82 million in vouchers for on-road vehicles and $20 million for off-road equipment, such as farm equipment and forklifts. It’ll also have $10 million reserved for small businesses.

WAZIP is funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation, and administered by CALSTART. Head here to sign up for program updates and information.
