After a long search, the Vashon Food Bank is relocating from its Sunrise Ridge digs to a property owned by the Vashon United Methodist Church on Vashon Highway Southwest.

According to the food bank’s webpage, its current location at Sunrise Ridge, which it has operated out of for more than 40 years, is in disrepair and does not meet the organization’s standards for safety and accessibility.

Costs for the new facility, including planning, design, engineering, permitting, construction, relocation, and internal campaign costs, are estimated to be around $7.25 million.

Construction officially began on the facility in the summer of 2025 and is expected to be completed and open in early 2026.
