The Kitsap Area Veterans Alliance and Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board are hosting the 2024 Fall Stand Down for Veterans Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event will offer a wide range of activities and resources for veterans, including:
- Women veterans services
- Legal assistance
- Women’s, men’s and children’s clothing
- Dental and health screenings
- Hygiene items and haircuts
- Employment referrals
- Housing options
- Education services
- VA claims and benefits
- Emergency shelter assistance
- Drivers license renewal
- Groceries and camping gear to those who qualify
Donuts and coffee will be served starting at 10 a.m. and hot meals starting at noon.
Veteran ID is required for entry (DD214/discharge papers or VA, military, retired military, reserves or national guard ID). Unaccompanied family members must bring the sponsor’s DD214 and proof of relationship. Bring several copies of your DD214 for faster service.
The event will be hosted at Sheridan Park Community Center, located at 680 Lebo Boulevard in Bremerton.
