On Feb. 14, Poulsbo Sons of Norway is celebrating Valisblót, the Norse tradition commemorating renewal, the changing of the seasons, and love.

The family-friendly festivities will begin at sunset, around 6 p.m., on Poulsbo’s Front Street.

The Sons of Norway was established in 1895, with the Poulsbo branch established in 1916 to preserve Norwegian heritage and culture in the area.

Though the original Valisblót wasn’t the same as Valentine’s Day, the Sons of Norway have used the day to catch up with fellow modern “Vikings,” their loved ones, and general fun seekers as Front Street is taken over.

The festive day ends with a bonfire at the waterfront. Get more event details here.
