Overview: If a nearly $80,000 sedan can be considered a good value, then the 2025 Genesis G80 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD is that car. Similarly equipped German luxury sedans tickle the $90K threshold. The Genesis G80 was refreshed for 2025 with both exterior and interior improvements. Outwardly, the G80 is a stunner that rivals top luxury and sport sedans. The sharply styled interior exudes luxury. Its updated infotainment system now has a 27-inch display. Our 3.5T Sport Prestige was the top model, but you can find other G80 models for considerably less.
Walkaround: The Genesis G80 Sport Prestige is a gorgeous car that looks great from every angle. The styling is cohesive and smooth. The 20-inch sport alloy wheels have a unique textured finish. There’s ample space between the spokes to showcase performance disc brakes. The panoramic sunroof is a welcome standard feature. The foot motion activates the trunk opener, great for loading groceries or luggage without placing items on wet pavement.
Interior: Space, comfort, high technology and impressive safety features combine to make the Genesis G80 interior a highlight. The dashboard was reworked for the new 27-inch-wide display screen. Headrests are pillow-soft, and the thick, flat-bottom steering wheel has two heat settings. Blue ambient interior lighting is a calming touch. Rear-seat accommodations are generously sized for large adults, but a tall floor tunnel precludes middle passengers. Trunk space is reasonable. Our tester had wonderfully comfortable and supportive seats, with many adjustment features, but they were covered in diamond-stitched white leather. As charter members of the “Eat In The Car Club,” we abhor white upholstery.
Behind the wheel: The 2025 Genesis G80 is an ideal car for long trips, thanks to a wonderful interior and a smooth chassis that’s athletic without being harsh. The twin-turbocharged V6 is quick, with ample horsepower and torque. Shifts are crisp and smooth, thanks to the eight-speed automatic. We didn’t encounter any weather conditions requiring all-wheel drive, but it’s always a good feature in the Pacific Northwest. We exceeded EPA highway estimates with a best fuel economy of 32.6 mpg on a long trip.
Bottom line: The 2025 Genesis G80 3.5T Sport Prestige is an impressive midsize luxury sedan. It scores high in style, comfort and luxury categories. Performance is strong but not tire-shredding. The emphasis is more on a pleasant ride, with ample power when needed. The G80 looks stunning, and the value proposition is excellent, as is the five-year, 60,000-mile warranty.
