Overview: The 2025 Ford F-150 SuperCrew four-wheel-drive hybrid pickup could be called the Ford Super Truck because it’s so versatile. It’s luxurious, spacious, technically advanced and fuel-efficient, and it still does all the hard work expected of a full-size pickup. We drove the midlevel XLT model, which was very car-like in terms of comfort and amenities although there are several trim levels above the XLT. The full-hybrid feature returned impressive fuel economy and strong acceleration.

Walkaround: The 2025 Ford F-150 is a handsome truck. Styling is clean and crisp, with familiar F-150 cues such as the lowered door glass by the mirrors, fender “vents,” wraparound taillights and Ford oval grille. The look is uncluttered and functional. Fit, finish and doors that shut solidly indicate quality construction and long-lasting value. The bed is loaded with clever features designed for people who use trucks for work. Bed power supply is a big hybrid bonus.

2025 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD SuperCrewInterior: Space, comfort and convenience items are abundant in the F-150 interior. Our tester had the mobile office package, which included a multifunction center console “desk.” Storage bins are big and plentiful, designed for active families and busy professionals. Rear-seat room and comfort are “limo-like” for passengers and foldup multifunctional for cargo needs. Our XLT had cloth upholstery with heated seats and power lumbar support, so the luxury factor was high even without the leather upholstery available in the more expensive F-150 models.

Behind the wheel: The F-150 is a big, powerful truck, but outside of “compact” parking space challenges, it rides and drives more like a full-size sedan. Power, torque and acceleration from the full hybrid are impressive. Merging and lane changes are quick and confident on ramps. Our test truck had the FX4 off-road package with skid plates, 20-inch all-terrain tires and a locking rear axle. It also had the tow and haul package, which increased the truck’s versatility without impacting the great everyday driving experience. Our best fuel economy was an impressive 24.3 mpg.

Bottom line: We liked the 2025 Ford F-150 SuperCrew hybrid a lot. It impressed us as the Swiss army knife of trucks — it can do almost anything, from city and freeway driving to off-roading to hauling and towing for work or pleasure. And all this functionality is accomplished in a spacious, comfortable cabin. Add in the economy of the PowerBoost full-hybrid drivetrain, and the Ford F-150 is a tough truck that’s tough to beat.
