Collective Visions Gallery — Hosting the 17th Annual Juried Show

Collective Visions GalleryThe Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton will host its 17th Annual Juried Show starting Jan. 13. This is one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest and most prestigious shows, featuring artists from across Washington state.

Greg Robinson, chief curator of the Bainbridge Island Art Museum, will jury this year’s show. In total, more than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded to selected artists, including the Mayor’s Award for Best of Show; the Best of Kitsap Award; and awards for best two-dimensional art, best three-dimensional art and best photographic or digital art.

Collective Visions GalleryCollective Visions is owned and operated by local artists. The gallery’s mission is to promote and celebrate the visual arts and to engage the community by hosting a variety of events. These include workshops and demonstrations, lectures, concerts, exhibits by nonmember artists and art groups, and collaborations with other art groups. Through these efforts, the gallery aims to foster a passion for the visual arts, enhance the spirit of community and enrich the lives of the people who live here.

  • 11 a.m. — exhibition opens to the public at Collective Visions Gallery
  • 3 p.m. — awards ceremony at the Roxy Theatre (for participating artists and sponsors)
  • 4 – 7 p.m. — reception at Collective Visions Gallery; open to the public

  • 5 – 8 p.m. — “First Friday” Artwalk and public reception at Collective Visions Gallery; everyone is welcome

Saturday, Feb. 10

  • 7 p.m. — concert at the Roxy Theatre by well-known jazz musician Mark Lewis; tickets available online through Eventbrite

Sunday, Feb. 18

  • 2 p.m. — panel discussion at Collective Visions Gallery led by Jan Hoy, well-regarded for her textile design, chalk pastel paintings and clay sculptures; joining will be jeweler Kathleen Faulkner and glass artists Steve Klein; free admission

  • Last day of show; closes at 4 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. — guest lecturer Juan Rodriguez, Best of Show winner in 2022 and 2013 shows; followed by the presentation of the People’s Choice Award; both events are at Collective Visions Gallery and are open to the public
