Overview: The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is a highly practical SUV with a pickup bed. It makes sense for families who value functionality over Baja-bashing lifted suspensions and noisy tires. The Honda Ridgeline is more about pragmatism than imposing looks but the new for 2024 TrailSport trim attempts to boost the off-road image.
Walkaround: The Honda Ridgeline is a pleasant looking vehicle. There is the styling split between the cab and the bed to make it appear more truck-like. Bed functionality is greatly enhanced with a tailgate that can be opened downward or horizontally. A large locking under-floor storage bin is a valuable bonus feature.
Interior: The interior is very nice if not inspiring. Comfort is great for the front seats and OK for the rear three-passenger bench. The rear seat cushions fold up to create a large inside storage space.
Behind the Wheel: The Ridgeline rides and drives like a very nice SUV. The precision VTEC V6 engine is strong and quick. The Ridgeline is capable of mid-fourteen second quarter mile times. Fuel economy was impressive — our best was 24.8 mpg.
Bottom line: The 2024 Honda Ridgeline TrailSport is a practical SUV/pickup that works great as an SUV with an extremely versatile trunk. It excels on pavement but it’s also highly capable on dirt trails or snow. The Honda Ridgeline TrailSport is sensible, practical, versatile, and comfortable — and that’s better than an off-road warrior for most owners.
