Visitors from around the globe are expected to visit Kitsap County when the Seattle FIFA World Cup hits the area this summer. And the county’s convenient access to the matches, exceptional affordability, iconic natural beauty, and welcoming spirit are expected to be its strongest calling cards for them to do so.
Visitors to the Kitsap Peninsula enjoy panoramic water views, charming neighborhoods and shopping districts, authentic small-town charm, and epic outdoor adventures, all just a short ferry ride or scenic drive from match-day excitement. Because the soccer matches run from mid-June to early July, fans and guests have the added bonus of being in the middle of summer activities and celebrations, such as the farmers’ markets, waterfront concerts, 4th of July festivals, and weather that is perfect for kayaking, sailing, hiking, and beach combing.
The Bremerton Fan Zone experience, located in Bremerton’s latest downtown attraction, the vibrant Quincy Square, was championed by Kitsap County Commissioner Katie Walters, whose leadership helped position Kitsap as a welcoming hub for global FIFA fans.
Quincy Square will serve as Kitsap’s primary community-gathering space and will be operated by the Downtown Bremerton Association, led by Executive Director Jessica Combs. It will feature: large-screen community match broadcasts; food vendors, live music, and cultural programming; family-friendly games and activities; and a lively festival atmosphere.
