Community Partnerships for a Good Cause

Community Scene - Community PartnershipsLocal chocolatier L’Atelier TR has formed a partnership with Rebuilding Hope, Kitsap County’s designated service provider for victims of sexual assault. A community-based nonprofit organization, Rebuilding Hope provides advocacy and therapy to survivors of sexual assault and abuse, as well as prevention education to the community at large. This collaboration aims to raise awareness and provide support for the prevention of sexual harassment and assault in the workplace, with a specific focus on the hospitality industry. L’Atelier TR, part of Crabtree Brands, was recently confronted with instances of sexual harassment within its own company. In response, the business took action to support its staff while committing to becoming an advocate for change in workplace culture. Peter Crabtree, the company’s owner, expressed his company’s dedication to fostering environments built on trust and respect, values that the new partnership seeks to promote throughout the hospitality sector.

Community Scene - Community PartnershipsAs part of this initiative, L’Atelier TR will select a specific chocolate product each month, donating 15% of gross sales from these items to support Rebuilding Hope’s prevention and outreach programs. The funds raised will contribute to several key objectives:

  • Promoting Rebuilding Hope’s programs and services for survivors of sexual violence in Kitsap County.
  • Encouraging conversations within the hospitality industry about sexual harassment and prevention.
  • Expanding Rebuilding Hope’s outreach efforts and donor base in Kitsap County.
  • Supporting the long-term goal of funding a full-time prevention advocate role for the region.

Crabtree noted that the partnership is part of his company’s broader commitment to addressing these issues. “After dealing with harassment in our own company, we realized that this problem is pervasive in the hospitality industry,” he said. “We wanted to be part of the solution, and this partnership with Rebuilding Hope allows us to take meaningful action.”
