For more than 50 years, Silverdale has transformed its “Old Town” neighborhood into an annual, volunteer-run community festival jam-packed with family-friendly fun — and this year is no different.
Set for July 24-26, the Whaling Days Festival will kick off with a fireworks show at dusk and a movie beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, which includes the 44th annual Whale of a Run race, the Silverdale Lions Parade, the KDDA Demolition Derby at Kitsap County Fairgrounds, and more.
The weekend will close out on Sunday with more street and food vendors, main-stage entertainment, and a duck race by the Silverdale Rotary.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to local charitable organizations and to scholarships for high school graduates of the Central Kitsap School District.
