Did you know that Mother’s Day is often touted as the one day a year when the most phone calls are made? For those opting to celebrate in person this year, we’ve rounded up a few local activities and events mom is sure to enjoy.
A Watercolor Workshop in Port Orchard
Instead of its usual clay creations, The Bisque in Port Orchard is branching out to the relaxing medium of watercolor painting on May 10 from 2-4 p.m.. The guided class will teach attendees how to paint flora and fauna and provide any supplies needed.
For the beer-loving moms out there — this one’s for you. The Sip, a self-serve family friendly taproom and wine lounge in Poulsbo, is hosting a floral arranging class. Local floral farm Healer’s Harvest will be on-site guiding attendees (dad’s are welcome too!) on how to craft a bouquet sure to impress the matriarch in your life.
A Mother’s Day Market in Bremerton
A little retail therapy never hurt anyone. This Mother’s Day, Kitsap Bazaar is encouraging moms to shop local from small businesses, artists, and makers at The Village Event Center from noon to 5 p.m. on May 9. Attendees can find handmade gifts, art, jewelry, tasty treats, and more.
