Poulsbo Sons of Norway recently welcomed 145 delegates from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska to Bremerton for its Norway District 2 Convention, a four-day event spotlighting Norwegian heritage, community, and cultural traditions.

As part of the convention, 28 representatives from different lodges discussed district business, celebrated the organization’s mission, and shared unique traditions and experiences from their local lodges.

“The Poulsbo Lodge is the largest Sons of Norway lodge in the world, with over 1,900 members. We are proud to be the center point of the city and a huge part of Kitsap County,” Lodge President Curtis Vincent said in a press release.

As part of the gathering, attendees explored the Scandinavian town’s downtown waterfront, shops, restaurants, and Liberty Bay. Later, delegates were invited to take part in a series of festivities including a traditional dinner provided by the Poulsbo lodge, performances by the Leikarringen dancers, and the lodge’s community Viking Bonfire celebration at Waterfront Park.
