One way to celebrate summer is with the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art’s Block Party, which is returning from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 8 after a three-year hiatus.
The free event sprawls across the BIMA campus and into its galleries, plaza, auditorium, and bistro.
The block party will feature a full roster of local musicians and artists across five different stages; attendees can partake in “create the art” activity stations between their sets. Visitors can also browse the wares of various Northwest creators vending at the event’s art market and take advantage of free museum admission to explore BIMA’s exhibitions, including “Indigenous Craft,” “Cloth, Paper, Stitches,” and “Carletta Carrington Wilson: Object Lessons.” In addition to all the activities, the event will additionally include a beer and wine garden and food vendors.
The party continues off-campus into the plaza, where local businesses like Fletcher Bay Winery, Bainbridge Brewing, Agate Restaurant, Kid’s Discovery Museum, and Bluehouse Interior will be open to extend the celebration. Plus, nearby Rockin’ Ruby’s Records will be joining in on the fun with its own stage and slate of musical performances.
