The Peninsula Art League will be hosting its 40th annual Summer Art Festival at Sehmel Homestead Park July 18-19.

The free family-friendly event invites community members to celebrate local art and live entertainment. This year’s festivities will feature more than 100 local artists selling goods created in various mediums like ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, mosaics, and more. Other attractions of interest include a literary corner, artistic activities for kids, and the expanded Community Arts Field, which will host local organizations like the Gig Harbor Film Festival.

There will be free shuttles to and from the event, where attendees can park their cars at Gig Harbor High School and then take the shuttle the rest of the way.

Proceeds raised from the event will go toward funding the Peninsula Art League’s High School Scholarship program. Scholarships are awarded to local graduating high schoolers who are pursuing careers in film, art, music, architecture, and digital media.
