A new all-ages summer music festival is launching on Bainbridge Island on Aug. 15.
Offering a lineup of Northwest artists, food vendors, and a U-pick dahlia opportunity, the Dahlia Farm Music Festival at Suyematsu Farms is produced by local nonprofit Rolling Bay Music Club in partnership with Seattle Pride. The music festival seeks to provide a safe gathering space for LGBTQIA+ members, allies, and families.
“This festival is about music, joy, inclusivity, and creating meaningful community experiences in beautiful outdoor spaces,” Jackie Costigan, founder of Rolling Bay Music Club, said in a press release. “We wanted to create something that feels welcoming, celebratory, and deeply rooted in local culture and connection.”
A portion of the event’s proceeds will support Seattle Pride’s youth programs.
“Rolling Bay Music Club’s commitment to bringing people together through the arts is exactly what our community needs right now,” said Patti Hearn, executive director of Seattle Pride Foundation, in the release. “This partnership amplifies what both organizations do best: Rolling Bay reaches new audiences through music, and we deepen our capacity to support LGBTQIA2S+ youth who need spaces where they belong. When artists and venues align around a shared purpose, that’s when real change happens.”
