Now celebrating its fifth year, the Poulsbo Film Festival returns with a three-day itinerary featuring parties, filmmaker discussions, networking, and more.

Opening night kicks off at 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Regal Cinemas in Poulsbo. The evening includes showings of a series of animated shorts, a music video, and the evening’s feature film “Death Diving with Asbjørg,” for which its Norwegian and Californian filmmakers will be in attendance.

In the days to follow, guests will see a series of horror, comedy, drama, and documentary shorts, plus student films. The festival closes out on Oct. 11 with the micro-documentary film “Reservation Redemption,” which tells the story of Chief Marchand Rice, a man raised on Washington’s Yakama Reservation who was sentenced to life for murder and, today, is a community voice for hope.
