There’s no one-size-fits-all way to celebrate Father’s Day. Sometimes it’s a drink in hand, sometimes it’s dinner outdoors, and sometimes it’s a group of baby goats doing parkour off your back. So, no matter what Dad has in mind, this year several events across Kitsap cover all the above.

Bremerton Beer Festival

For those looking for a classic “dad-inspired” day, the Bremerton Beer Festival on June 21 features a curated selection of local breweries, cideries, food trucks, live music, and soccer matches playing on a large outdoor screen. Basic admission is $30 and includes five drink tokens and a commemorative glass.

This year’s music lineup includes folk-rock group Laurel Canyon Legacy, Cascade country artist Aaron Crawford, and high-energy blues group Eden.

Barbecue and Adventure Race on Bainbridge Island

On Bainbridge Island, IslandWood is set to celebrate fathers in the great outdoors. Its Father’s Day Barbecue and Adventure Race is June 21 and begins at 2 p.m. The outdoor organization invites families to explore its six miles of trails and offers activities along the way — just be sure to make it back to the dining hall by 4 p.m. for the buffet-style dinner. And don’t forget, this is a BYOPB (Bring Your Own Picnic Blanket) event.

A Salmon Bake in Port Orchard

A longtime community staple, the annual Father’s Day Salmon Bake hosted by Friends of the Manchester Library, asks families to gather over a quintessentially Northwest meal. The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and includes wild-caught sockeye salmon grilled over alder wood by the Bow family, who have led the cookout for nearly 50 years. Tickets are $25 for adults, and all proceeds go to the library.

Baby Goat Play Days in Poulsbo

At Bushel and Barrel Ciderhouse, Baby Goat Play Day offers a full-family experience built around hands-on time with baby goats. This event will run every weekend between June 13 and July 5, offering plenty of chances to fit it into the celebration schedule.

Each hourlong session includes drinks for guests, snacks for goats, and space to relax — making it an option that works just as well for parents as it does for kids. But warn Dad, he might have to share the spotlight for this one.
