On April 24, the Mathis Guild, a philanthropic group consisting of roughly 200 women, is gathering at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club for its annual luncheon benefitting Silverdale’s St. Michael Medical Center.
This year, the women of the annual luncheon are raising funds to install Rampart technology — which helps protect medical professionals from radiation exposure — in at least one of the hospital’s five cardiac catheterization laboratories.
It costs around $155,000 to install the technology in a single room. The Mathis Guild has thus far received a pledge of $108,000 from a private donor, according to the organization’s president, Jennifer Mills.
The nonprofit’s origins can be traced back to 1961, when it began as a small group of community members committed to supporting their local hospital. While the group’s numbers have subsequently expanded, its current mission remains unchanged, and, in 2026, it became a 501(c)(3) accredited nonprofit.
