Construction has officially begun on the McCormick Village Retail center.

The Port Orchard development, which is part of the planned McCormick Communities neighborhood, is a multi-phased project that will include 30,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and service spaces. It’s designed to be pedestrian-oriented and serve as a one-stop spot for residents and visitors to shop, eat, and meet. The current McCormick community houses more than 7,000 people, and the new retail village is expected to help increase that number by 19,000 residents by 2033, according to a release.

Leases have already been signed with businesses including Forestview Dental, McCormick Veterinary Clinic, Wilson Patisserie, Salt & Sage Massage and Skincare, Village Pharmacy, and Honey & Mane Hair Studio to occupy some of the new buildings. Other businesses expected to join the community include a yoga studio and gym.

“McCormick Village Retail is designed to be the heart and soul of the McCormick community,” Eric Campbell, principal owner and president at McCormick Communities, said in the release. “As the community continues to grow, residents want convenient places where they can meet neighbors, grab coffee, run errands, and enjoy local businesses close to home. The strong leasing activity we’re seeing reflects the excitement from retailers who want to be part of this vibrant and expanding community.”

Some of the work on buildings A and B is expected to be completed by late summer, with other buildings predicted to be completed early in 2027. Other buildings will be finished in phases as more leases are signed.
