CreativeMornings is a creative community spanning 70 countries that works with an artist in its network to share an illustration for a monthly theme that’s used as inspiration for talks given that month in local chapters.
Earlier this month, the organization chose the Poulsbo chapter’s thematic suggestion of “ember,” and selected Bainbridge Island artist Sarah Gordon to visually represent it for Creative Mornings’ website, social channels, and promotional materials.
The volunteer-led organization spans more than 250 chapters around the world. With its selection of Poulsbo, the Kitsap region becomes one of a select group of communities influencing the organization’s international network, according to a release from Vibe Coworks, a coworking spot that has sponsored venue space for CreativeMornings’ Poulsbo chapter’s monthly meetings.
Rachael Studebaker, founder of Studebaker Design Company and CreativeMornings’ Poulsbo chapter, used the recognition as a moment to reflect on the latter organization’s initial aspirations.
“From the beginning, the vision was bigger than one town,” Studebaker said in the release. “We wanted to create something that felt welcoming to creatives from across Kitsap County — a space where people could gather, learn from one another, and feel part of a global creative movement without having to leave home.”
