Overview: The 2025 Infiniti QX50 is a compact luxury SUV that has remained largely unchanged since its 2019 introduction. In a highly competitive segment such gaps between refreshes aren’t good. All-wheel drive is now standard but trim levels have been consolidated. The excellent, comfortable interior and handsome styling have held up well.
Walkaround: The Infiniti QX50 was stylish when introduced and it still looks sharp. There are lots of crisp styling cues that add interest without being gimmicky — an example being the small notch on the rear hatch pillar. Our top trim tester’s rolling stock favored a street performance vibe over an off-roader. Minimal wheel arch cladding also contributed to a luxury look.
Interior: Comfort and style have always been an Infiniti QX50 strong point. Space is ample for five passengers with 31 cubic feet of storage behind the second row and 65 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats down. There was a welcome storage bin under the cargo deck. A power liftgate is standard. The quilted white leather upholstery was stylish but not our choice for carefree maintenance. Both front and back seats were heated. A great panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade brightened the interior. The infotainment is aging but the Bose sound system was still excellent.
Behind the Wheel: The turbocharged I-4 engine was adequate but nothing to write home about. Standard all-wheel drive is always welcome in the variable weather Pacific Northwest but the CVT was sluggish and noisy — not traits one expects in a luxury SUV. Fuel economy is very good with careful driving pushing the 30 mpg threshold.
Bottom line: The 2025 Infiniti QX50 is a fine compact luxury SUV but the market segment is loaded with equally fine or better competitors. Interior luxury, space, comfort, and ride quality are all excellent in this still handsome SUV.
